Office Policy

Our office policies help us provide clear, timely, and quality care for every child and family. They guide how we manage appointments, communication, and treatment so that each visit runs smoothly in a safe and supportive environment.

At About You Psychiatric Services, we focus on your comfort, privacy, and well being. We provide care in a safe and respectful space where you can speak openly. Our goal is to support each patient with care that fits their needs while keeping a smooth and organized schedule for all.

Missed Appointments and Cancellations

We understand that unexpected events can happen. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.

Missed visits and late cancellations affect our ability to care for other patients.

  • Missed appointment fee: $75
  • Less than 24 hours notice:
    o First time: $25
    o After that: $50
  • Repeated missed visits may lead to discharge from care

Thank you for helping us stay available for all patients.

Late Policy

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If you arrive late, your visit may be shortened or rescheduled so we can stay on time for other patients.

Stimulant Medication Policy

For patients taking stimulant medication, we require at least two in person visits each year.

These visits allow us to review your progress, address any concerns, and ensure safe and proper use of medication.

Refill Policy

To avoid delays, please request medication refills at least five business days in advance.

Requests made with less notice may not be completed on time.

If an appointment is missed, a $10 fee may be charged for refill requests.

Refills can be requested by phone ‪(757) 828-5659 or through the patient portal.

Stimulant Medication Management Agreement

Patients who receive stimulant medication must follow a medication agreement to ensure safe and responsible use.

This agreement includes the following:

  • Take medication exactly as prescribed
  • Follow the correct dose and schedule
  • Request refills only through proper process
  • Do not request early refills
  • Do not receive controlled medications from other providers without informing us
  • Attend all scheduled appointments
  • Participate in monitoring visits when required
  • Complete drug testing if requested
  • Report lost or stolen medication right away
  • Store medication safely and keep it out of reach of others
  • Do not share, sell, or misuse medication

If these guidelines are not followed, medication treatment may be stopped.

By agreeing to this policy, patients confirm they understand and will follow these rules.

Number of Visitors

To keep visits calm and focused, we ask that only the patient and up to two adults attend the appointment.

This helps reduce distractions and keeps the space comfortable for everyone.

Payment Policy

All copayments are due at the time of service.

We accept credit and debit cards.

Benzo Policy

For safety reasons and due to risk of dependence, we do not prescribe benzodiazepine medications.

Our Commitment

We are here to support you with care, respect, and understanding. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive experience for every patient and family.
